2011-2013 Project of Choice: CNG Compressor for Tulsa Public Schools

Our 2012 and 2013 Project of Choice focused on encouraging Oklahoma school districts to transition their bus fleets to compressed natural gas. CNG burns cleaner than diesel, is readily available and has a sustainable payback model for fleets.

The Bellmon Awards CNG Grant was developed to assist a school district in transitioning their school bus fleet to compressed natural gas. This $60,000 grant helps offset the capital costs of fueling equipment and buses and saves Tulsa Public Schools approximately $500,000 annually in fuel costs. This project was done in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Southside Tulsa.
