TulsaPeople Talks To Board Member Mike Limas

April 22, 2017

Happy Earth Day!

We hope you have enjoyed celebrating Earth Day events with your friends and family this year. We love this time of year because it brings awareness to ways that we each can live more thoughtfully and sustainably on this planet with one another.

This time of year also brings out one of our favorite issues of TulsaPeople Magazine – their Green Issue. There are so many fabulous articles in this issue. One in particular we are thrilled to share is by our board member, Mike Limas of Tulsa Community College. He shares about TCC’s involvement in our business sustainability Scor3card program, first as a pilot member in 2015, and again as a returning participant that launched in November of last year.

TCC was looking for ways to implement more sustainable business practices and our Scor3card program allowed them the tools they needed to track and report on their efforts, which resulted in some major successes. Mike also touched on an important element of the Scor3card program: coaches. A coach was assigned to TCC to help them through the process, and each business who participates is given the same opportunity. Our stellar group of volunteer coaches are instrumental to the success of this program as they guide the businesses through completing the items in the Scor3card.

There is so much more Mike shares and I don’t want to spoil it for you. We encourage you to check out this issue on stands across town and online!

May 8th wraps up this year’s Scor3card session that started in November, and in August we will have a final event celebrating each business’s successes. It will be quite a celebration. Is the Scor3card program something you and your business have been looking for? Stay connected with us. You can subscribe to our e-newsletter and get updates on everything happening with the Scor3card and other programs.

Thank you to TulsaPeople for producing another fantastic Green Issue and covering the Scor3card program. Thank you, Mike Limas, for everything you’re doing for TCC’s sustainability success and for your leadership of our coaching program. And thank you to all of the businesses and individuals who are making strides to live a more sustainable life leading Tulsa toward resiliency and sustainability.

Celebrating Earth Day, every day…
